Small facts. Big paws.

The person who guides a sled-dog team is called a musher. Dogs and people work together on the trail.
Learning from friends
At Denali National Park, young sled dogs learn alongside experienced teammates. Even dogs have teachers!
More than racing
Denali's sled dogs help rangers travel through snow and carry supplies. They are working park helpers.
Explore more with a grown-up: Life of a sled dog and mushing at Denali, from the National Park Service.
Kindness comes first
Be a good trail friend.
Visit with a grown-up. Ask the dog's handler before petting, walk calmly, and give resting dogs their space. Cheer from the spectator area and keep the race trail clear.
